New CEO takes the reins at Webcor | Dump Trucks Charlotte NC

Matt Rossie has been named CEO at Webcor, the San Francisco-based contractor announced this week. The move is part of a long-planned succession in preparation for former CEO Jes Pedersen’s retirement later this year.  

Throughout his 22-year tenure at Webcor, Rossie has overseen some of the firm's largest and most complex design-build and public-private partnerships projects, including:

• The University of California, Merced’s, 2020 expansion.
• San Francisco Public Utilities Commission headquarters.
• San Francisco Museum of Modern Art expansion.
• The California Academy of Sciences museum project.

Pedersen and Rossie have been working closely on the transition since it was announced a year ago. In addressing Rossie's assumption of Webcor’s top role, Pedersen said, “Matt has instilled confidence in every project team and client with his unique ability to see the big picture while simultaneously diving into details and tactics.”

Pedersen noted that Rossie was taking the reins at a very challenging time, given the impacts of the pandemic and rising interest rates.

“But I have no doubt that his ability to devise unique solutions and build trust will lead to a pipeline filled with exciting new projects,” Pedersen said.

One of the first items on Rossie’s punch list in his new role will be to complete Webcor’s strategic plan, focused on pursuing projects in market sectors that support profitable growth. He said he plans to spend his first few months in the new role listening to employees, clients and partners to help refine his vision for Webcor’s long-term future.
