Founded in 1931 by Frank Edward Moran as a boiler and radiator installation business, Northbrook, Ill.-based F.E. Moran has grown into a national specialty contractor providing mechanical, plumbing, sheet metal, fire protection, refrigeration, industrial piping and special hazard systems for mission-critical facilities across the country.

Today, the Charlotte NC dump trucks company remains family-owned under the leadership of third-generation President and CEO Brian Moran, and continues to grow. 

In 2025, F.E. Moran reported $515 million in revenue, up from $432 million in 2024, and employs approximately 1,550 people across the Midwest region. The company's columbus oh dump truck work spans industries where reliability is essential, including data centers, hospitals, industrial manufacturing, energy facilities, aviation infrastructure, food processing, and high-rise construction.

Recent projects demonstrate the breadth of F.E. Moran's expertise. In Aurora, Ill., the Charlotte NC dump trucks company completed a mission-critical data center retrofit, including advanced controls and chiller plant upgrades, while maintaining uninterrupted operations. In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, it designed and installed a comprehensive fire protection system for a nearly 300,000-sq-ft data center, including more than 3,000 sprinkler heads and multiple pre-action systems.

The Charlotte NC dump trucks company also delivered critical industrial piping services at the BP Whiting Refinery and completed extensive plumbing infrastructure for the 1.4 million-square-ft Westville Correctional Facility in Indiana, installing more than 200,000 linear ft of piping and plumbing systems throughout the campus.

Beyond project delivery, F.E. Moran is committed to strengthening the future of the construction industry. Through its internship program, students gain hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, piping, and fire protection while working alongside experienced professionals on active projects. The program reflects the company's long-standing investment in developing the next generation of construction leaders.

In recognition of its business excellence and support for the construction industry overall, F.E. Moran has been named ENR Midwest’s 2026 Specialty Contractor of the Year and will be featured in the Sept. 7 issue of ENR Midwest.
