Subsite intros UtiliGuard 2 locator with data logging, GPS positioning | Dump Truck Company

The UtiliGuard 2 multi-frequency locator from Subsite Electronics uses an all-new user interface that features simplified graphics leading to easier and faster data interpretation.

Subsite says users “will notice an obvious change in screen layout when directly over a utility locate, providing positive confirmation.”  UtiliGuard 2 data can be used by operators and supervisors to verify performance, demonstrate quality and compliance and track performance.

“Supervisors can also use this data to track performance, compare it with benchmarks and enable actionable outcomes to be implemented,” says Richard Fling, utility locating product manager. “This reporting and auditing capability helps increase quality, reduce cable strikes and increase productivity across multiple crews.”

The locator also has integrated GPS positioning, offering improved activity reporting. As with the original model, the unit has Ambient Interference Measurement technology that automatically recommends the best signal frequency. A 5-watt or 12-watt transmitter drives signals farther down large buried utilities and provides both the horizontal and vertical distance (depth) to the utility to enable accurate locates.

Subsite Electronics is brand of Toro, which acquired the Charles Machine Works and the Ditch Witch brand earlier this year.
