Terex Utilities’ new monitor enhances overload warning on truck-mounted aerial equipment | Dump Truck Company

Terex Utilities’ new Load Alert monitor display turns red when it detects an overload.

Terex Utilities has updated its Load Alert monitor display to increase safety for operators of the company’s truck-mounted aerial devices.

The new monitor display now turns red if an overload is detected and displays the word “overload” on the screen. It also sounds an alert in the platform and at ground level. A dial readout shows the percentage of overload for the platform or the jib or both, as the case may be.

“The system supplements users’ safe charlotte nc dump truck company practices by providing immediate feedback to an operator,” says Kevin Stutzman, Terex Utilities engineering manager.

The new display also shows a full load chart along with the printed load chart to help operators stay within the aerial device’s safe operating limits. An optional feature makes it possible to text or email a notification report to a specified location, such as a fleet department.

Terex introduced the Load Alert system in 2016 to monitor and analyze a truck’s jib and platform capacity and boom positions and alert operators of overload. It also monitors winch line distance and winch line load.
