Wash. bridge over I-90 struck by oversize load three time in less than a year | Dump Truck Company

On July 2 the Danekas Bridge over Interstate 90 in Washington was, once again, struck by an oversize load on the westbound side, KXLY.com reports.

The bridge has been struck two other times in the less than a year — once just a month and a half ago on May 21, and once in early September 2018.

In May, an oversize load hit the same area of the bridge, causing the closure of the northbound lanes on the bridge and westbound lanes on I-90 while crews removed loose debris, bent rebar back into place, and secured strands on the girder.

In September 2018, more extensive repairs were required, including reinstalling railing, demolishing and replacing damaged sections of the bridge, and repaving the bridge deck.

Current damages are believed to be somewhat minor. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews were sent to inspect the bridge to determine what repairs will be needed.
